Husky Hardwood Classic Rules: PRINTABLE PDF

All Husky Hardwood Classic games will follow current Indiana High School Athletic Association (IHSAA) basketball rules, except where modified by grade division.

Husky Hardwood Classic is a “Feeder School Basketball Tournament”. Players named on rosters must currently be enrolled and attending a feeder school to the high school represented, and be of appropriate age for the grade level in which he/she participates. Grade and school confirmation must be available upon request by the Tournament Director. If team information or any individual player information is deemed inaccurate, the entire feeder team is subject to forfeit, including registration and any other tournament fees.

Individuals may NOT participate in Husky Hardwood Classic games unless registration information is completed and returned to tournament organizers. Team rosters may not be altered following registration without approval from the Tournament Director.

Each team is guaranteed participation in three games. Pool play shall consist of two games. A single elimination tournament will ensue following pool play. Single elimination tournament will be seeded based on pool play results: 1. Winning percentage; 2. Head-to-head record; 3. Point differential; 4. Coin flip

Each team is responsible for either supplying a statistician (scorebook keeper) or scoreboard operator for each game. Coaches should submit team rosters including jersey numbers to the statistician 10 minutes prior to the start of each game. Official scores will be kept and displayed for all games.

Each game shall consist of two (2) twelve (12:00) minute halves and a four (4:00) minute half-time break. Time outs will be approximately one (1:00) minute in length. Each team will have three (3) time outs per regulation game. Time outs may not be carried over into overtime if unused. Overtime periods will be two (2:00) minutes in length. Each team will get one (1) timeout per overtime period. Deficit of 20 points or more will result in a running clock for the final 8 minutes of the contest.

Husky Hardwood Classic has a ZERO TOLERANCE policy toward fighting, flagrant, or intentionally violent fouls, as well as use of abusive or obscene language by players, coaches, parents or spectators. Flagrant or intentionally violent fouls, language deemed obscene, abusive or vulgar directed toward players, coaches, officials, parents or spectators by a player or a coach will result in a technical foul and automatic ejection and removal from the gymnasium. Unruly parents or spectators will also be subject to ejection from the gymnasium.  Tournament officials should be consulted regarding inappropriate conduct of players, coaches, parents or spectators. Organizers have the right review individual situations and assess further penalties, up to removal of the player, coach, parent, spectator or team from further participation, including forfeit of registration and any other tournament fees.
